Bye Bye Floppy Ears

Today is Dexter's last day with floppy ears.
I think Eli looks happier than Dexter in this picture.
Dexter is getting to be a fatty, so I don't think I'll be able to
carry him much longer.
Kisses before the big day.

So, my hubby calls me mid-day asking me to take pictures
of Dexter's floppy ears because he's taking him to get his ears cropped
tomorrow. I know this is a controversial subject, at least in our home.
We even took a vote. Girls two and Boys three.
Ovaries lost this one. Poor Dexter, yet another surgery.
Good thing he just got a bath.
Ug, another 10 days without a bath.

Home For The Day

I'm at home today taking care of my youngest, who has been vomiting and having stomach pain. I love being home. I just wish it was for a happy reason. Nonetheless, I get nurture my munchkin.

Breaking House Rules

I found these pix in my camera. Daddy must have taken them during his week off from work. They look very cute and comfy, only they are breaking two house rules.
1. No feet on the table
2. No dog on the sofas
I guess, Victor didn't enforce that rule while he was holding down the fort.
They do look comfy. I think they are watching T.V.
Maybe they're watching "Pit Boss", my munchkin's new favorite reality show
now that we have a pit ourselves.
Dex looks blue sometimes and sometimes he looks fawn. The vet wrote down
that he is a blue fawn brindle. Isn't that complicated?
Taken this morning as he rolled around in the cool grass. It is funny to watch. Chase used to do the same thing. It must feel good. Dex makes a content piggy noise. No, really, he sounds like a happy piglet. I know piggy sounds cuz my gram's had a farm.
He found a new chew toy. I think the crunch of the water bottle entertained him. I took it away after a while, cuz I was afraid he'd bite a piece off and choke. I can't wait 'til we starts obedience classes and interacts with dogs. I am actually looking forward to walking him and taking him to a dog park (well sending Victor to the dog park with Dexter). Dexter has to wait 'til he gets all his puppy shots before he is allowed to leave our home.

Dexter's First Bath

This was taken on Super bowl Sunday, so I'm a week late in posting these pix. Dexter had his first bath and I think his expression says it all, "What did I do wrong?"
We had to wait 10 days after bringing him home to give him a bath because he had surgery and wasn't allowed to get wet. We were wiping him down with baby wipes until we (I mean Victor) could give him a good clean bath.
Dexter backed away from pops to shake some water off.
He whimpered for Victor to stop. This picture shows his head injury healing nicely. The scab fell off the night before.
This was Victor's response to Dexter's whimpering. Sorry, lil pup, but you were stinky and making our allergies act up something fierce.

First Painting

As promised, here is my first painting...and hopefully not my last.
Just in case you don't know what it is let me tell you. Part of butterfly wings.
My inspiration came from my daughter's painting. She made it for my new office. I wanted to use some similar colors, but I think mine came out too neutral, but it'll do.
My office has a cozy fireplace and mantel. Sabrina's painting brightens my day every time I walk into my new office. I hope it brightens others too.
